Every piece in this collection is hand block printed by our own artisans in Bagru, near Jaipur, using hand-carved wooden blocks and skin-friendly natural dyes. The blocks are pressed by hand, one repeat at a time, across the full length of the cloth.
Linen's texture makes it an interesting cloth to print. The slight unevenness of the weave means the dye sits a fraction differently across the surface, which gives natural dyed linen its depth. It also explains the small irregularities you will find — a faint join where two impressions meet, one motif slightly deeper than its neighbour, a subtle shift in colour along a length. These are the marks of a hand-printed textile, not defects, and not something to apologise for. A screen or digital print would be flawlessly uniform, and it would look it.
Stitching Your Linen Suit
Linen cotton is straightforward to stitch and most tailors handle it confidently. The 44 inch width gives comfortable room across the shoulder and through the sleeve, and the fabric holds a pressed seam well.
For a linen kurta set or linen cotton kurta set, a straight or A-line cut suits the fabric best — linen has enough body to hold a clean line, and heavy gathers work against it. Caring for Linen Cotton
Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent for the first few washes. Do not scrub or wring — linen creases readily and hard wringing sets those creases in. Dry in shade, never in direct sun, and iron while very slightly damp on medium heat for the cleanest finish.
Some colour will release in the first two or three washes. That is the natural dye settling, and it eases. Linen also shrinks a little on first wash, so if your tailor is cutting a close fit, pre-wash the fabric before stitching. Do not bleach or tumble dry.
